How Much Do You Spend On Alcohol?

If you’re a millennial or a baby boomer, the demographic groups that drink the most, you might be surprised at how much your alcohol habit costs.

While millennials make up about a quarter of people over 21 in the U.S., they buy 35 percent of beer sold and 42 percent of wine.

Baby boomers, whose numbers are slightly less than millennials, buy even more wine.

It’s estimated that a three drink a day, five days a week booze habit, at an average of $10 a drink, adds up to $7,800 a year on alcohol and that doesn’t include tips or the cost of a taxi.
